At Sweetpea and Ivy, we love transforming venues into immersive themed experiences, and recently had the pleasure of styling a stunning 1920s event at The Manor in Greasby.

Bringing the Roaring Twenties to Life

Our vision was to create a sophisticated setting inspired by the elegance of the Jazz Age while adding a modern luxury feel.

Working throughout the venue, we combined rich metallic tones, dramatic feather displays and Art Deco-inspired styling to completely immerse guests in the era.

From the moment guests arrived, every detail was carefully considered to capture the glamour associated with the Great Gatsby from our black and gold vip stanchions and sequin curtain entrance and black and gold balloon garlands.

Statement Styling from the Moment Guests Arrived

First impressions matter, especially with a themed event.

Our welcome display featured a vintage gramophone surrounded by luxurious white ostrich feathers, elegant pearl details and bespoke Gatsby-inspired signage, instantly transporting guests back to the 1920s.

These larger styling moments help create excitement before guests even reach their tables and provide the perfect backdrop for photographs throughout the evening.

Elegant 1920s Table Centrepieces

Rather than traditional floral arrangements, we created a combination of luxurious gold centrepieces that reflected the opulence of the Art Deco period.

Each table featured:

Gold foliage and metallic botanical arrangements
Elegant gold calla lilies
Luxury wireless table lamps
Layers of gold textures and finishes
Soft ambient lighting to create warmth and atmosphere
Gold candelabras
Black Table Cloths

The combination of metallic textures and warm lighting created a sophisticated tablescape that perfectly complemented the venue’s interiors while maintaining the glamour expected from a Roaring Twenties celebration.

From the first point of contact they were helpful and friendly, the meeting was very reassuring and I felt in good hands and excited! I am a very indecisive person and they made the process feel easier and helped with their expert advice. They even put some of my own decorations up that I had made including a 15ft rainbow garland on the ceiling! Amy was there at the crack of dawn dropping my flowers off at the hotel and there at the end of the night taking everything down. We also worked with Amy on a styled shoot which we filmed and Amy styled - so knew each other prior to planning our wedding. Our celebrations were outdoors/marquees and DIY based. We needed help with finessing the handmade/second hand decor we already had, and also with a particular area - our dance tent. We wanted this to feel like a totally different area to our main marquee and we knew Amy would be able to pull this off for us :) We had a few pieces of our own decor to use (including voile, taffeta and disco balls) around the tents. Amy incorporated these items into her styling - which was lovely for us to see our own decorations used! - but she mainly sourced all the items to help bring our vision to life, really giving the tent the wow factor. She really listened to everything I wanted, offered many helpful ideas and suggestions and made me feel completely at ease throughout the whole process with her relaxed and friendly approach. Nothing was ever too much trouble!

The team dressed our venue, The Little Fox, and brought my vision to life more beautifully than I could ever have imagined. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and the attention to detail was outstanding. They also created all of our florals, which were absolutely perfect and exceeded every expectation.

Communication was brilliant throughout from
both Amy and Tamar and it was clear that the whole team are true professionals who genuinely care about creating something special. Despite their incredible standards, they remained approachable, warm and easy to work with.

They have such a huge range of props and décor pieces that we were completely spoilt for choice. Their warehouse is absolutely massive, we could have spent all day looking around!

We eventually chose a mixture of different height trees for our centrepieces and to line the aisle. The team created beautiful fresh florals around the bases, and we also picked matching napkins, charger plates and chair dressings to complete the look.

Kate and I were absolutely delighted with everything. The venue looked incredible, and so many of our guests commented on how beautiful it all was. The whole team were friendly, helpful and made the planning process so easy from start to finish.

Firstly and foremostly my wedding bouquet was the one of my dreams, and exceeded anything I imagined. I'm not very creative and struggled to fully explain what I wanted but Amy & Tamar knew exactly the right questions to ask and gave me flowers that were incredibly beautiful.

They did mine and the bridal parties bouquets, the buttonhole flowers for groom and father of the bride and set up the venue including floristry for the venue, setting up the cards & pudding table, decorating each guest table and doing welcome boards and table seating plans.

Their communication was incredible, and they were so flexible and very kind when my first venue went insolvent and my wedding date had to be moved.

Everything with set up and close down at the venue went without a hitch, and the venue looked incredible. I really couldn't recommend more.

The SwP & I team had more or less finished styling the venue before we had even arrived the day before - very impressed! They were calm, professional and really friendly.

We had so many compliments all day from guests about the colour scheme and design.
