Last month, we had the absolute joy of transforming a blank event space into an otherworldly enchanted forest for our clients, Abodus Student Living, set within the beautiful surroundings of Woburn Center Parcs.
What began as a simple mood board, brimming with moss, mushrooms, and whimsical woodland inspiration soon evolved into a breathtaking immersive experience designed to surprise, delight, and completely transport guests.
At the heart of the space stood a dramatic stage, framed by trailing foliage and bespoke stage flats that enveloped the twin projector screens. Towering 3 and 4 metre silver birch trees lined the backdrop, adding vertical drama and a natural canopy effect, while oversized, sculptural purple mushrooms brought a bold, surrealist twist.
The front of the stage was transformed into a wild forest floor, layered with rich floral and foliage arrangements. Glowing velvet mushrooms peeked through the greenery, interspersed with tiny pinpricks of warm light that mimicked fireflies. Fluttering, light-up butterflies danced at the edge of the stage, casting subtle movements that added a layer of unexpected magic.
For the tables, we designed custom moss-covered candelabra centrepieces, dripping with trailing ivy, soft floral clusters, luminous mushrooms, and delicate butterfly details. Every place setting was finished with a white reef charger plate and moss green napkin, echoing the natural palette and bringing the theme to every guest’s fingertips.
To create a cohesive, immersive environment, even the lighting plinths and technical stands were camouflaged in moss and ivy, ensuring no detail was left untouched.
One of the most loved features was our woodland-inspired photo opportunity: a curved tree arch with a log seat nestled beneath it, surrounded by wild florals, foliage, and oversized mushrooms, perfect for capturing memories in this fairytale setting.
At the back of the room, a continuation of our forest installation featured more silver birch trees, lush florals, and mushrooms, creating a fully 360° woodland atmosphere. Standing tall , our 4 metre enchanted tree wrapped in fairylights, vines, and mushrooms, served as the ultimate show-stopping feature and natural gathering point.
Guests were greeted through a twisted willow walkway at the event entrance, laid with natural grass and layered with florals including alliums, foxgloves, and bluebells. Oversized mushrooms, prop rocks, twinkling fairy lights, and charming woodland creatures including a majestic stag which guided guests in. A custom designed forest soundscape added depth and texture to the arrival experience, enveloping everyone from the moment they stepped in.
This was more than just an event, it was an escape. A deep dive into a magical forest world, where every element, every scent, and every sight contributed to the story. A space to wander, to wonder, and to be utterly enchanted.
