The Inspiration Behind Natalie & Tom’s Jewel Toned Wedding at Walcot Hall
When Natalie and Tom began planning their wedding at Walcot Hall, they knew they wanted the styling to feel rich, atmospheric and completely in keeping with the character of the venue, they had their heart set on a jewel toned wedding at Walcot Hall.
The ballroom at Walcot Hall is unforgettable, with its striking turquoise walls, grand chandeliers and layers of historic detail, so the floral palette needed enough depth and warmth to hold its own within the space. We leaned into deep jewel tones throughout the design, using rich reds, berry tones, burgundy, plum and hints of midnight blue to create contrast against the brightness of the room.
Natalie grew up in Indonesia, so it was important that there were subtle references to tropical foliage woven into the styling. Rather than making the design feel overtly tropical, we incorporated textured foliages amongst the florals to add movement and a softer nod to her childhood and family roots.
Vintage Styling Details
The centrepieces were designed in vintage-style footed bowls overflowing with abundant florals, paired with aged brass candlesticks and taper candles. The couple were really drawn to pieces that felt collected rather than styled too perfectly. Every element needed to sit naturally within the ballroom, almost as though it had always belonged there.
The top table carried that same layered feeling. We ran foliage, vintage brass vases and clusters of jewel toned florals the full length of the table, finished with candlelight throughout to create warmth against the grandeur of the room. The vintage brass elements created the perfect styling to compliment a jewel toned wedding at Walcot Hall.
Jewel Toned Fireplace Floral Installations at Walcot Hall
Either side of the top table, the fireplaces naturally called for something impactful. We created two asymmetrical floral installations that climbed up the mirrors above the fireplaces, paired with matching floral meadows across the hearths below. The arrangements were softened further with cylinder candles and layered candlelight, adding another warm glow to the room as the evening set in.
The couple also chose a bright red vintage post box for their cards and well wishes, which tied beautifully into the colour palette while still feeling in keeping with the venue’s character. We styled the area with additional brass candlesticks and florals so it felt fully integrated into the overall design rather than a standalone feature.
Dramatic Bridal Bouquets with Scottish Heritage Touches
The bouquets were designed individually to complement the different tones within the bridesmaids’ dresses while still feeling cohesive as a collection. Natalie’s bouquet was intentionally dramatic and full of texture, featuring peonies, clematis and thistles as a subtle nod to her Scottish heritage.
This wedding was all about embracing colour, history and personality in a way that still felt elegant and timeless. Against the turquoise backdrop of Walcot Hall, the jewel toned florals created exactly the rich, romantic atmosphere Natalie and Tom had envisioned.
