An Intimate September Autumnal Wedding with a “Just-on-the-Turn” colour palette

There’s something truly special about that fleeting moment when summer softens into autumn, when the air feels a little crisper and the leaves begin to turn golden. Amy our company director had her own intimate wedding at Tal y Bont Uchaf Farm in North Wales captured that magical in-between season perfectly a celebration filled with warmth, fun and an intentionally relaxed atmosphere that felt so uniquely personal.

A Celebration that Lasted All Weekend

One of the joys of choosing Tal y Bont Uchaf Farm was being able to turn our wedding into a full weekend of celebrations. With so many of our guests staying on site, the party began on Friday and stretched all the way to Monday with a laid back bbq and hot tub time. It gave us the time and space to really connect, to slow down, and to make memories that went beyond just one day. It wasn’t just a wedding, it was a gathering of our favourite people, all under one roof, with laughter, food, and love flowing throughout.

A Ceremony of Heart and Soul

By the time September arrived, we were already officially married, having tied the knot in February. This day wasn’t about formality it was about gathering our closest friends and family to celebrate in a way that felt laidback, personal, joyful and a bit silly.

Our ceremony took place in the farm’s garden, with beautiful views of Anglesey. We had close friend officiating a detail that meant the world to us and set the tone for a relaxed, fun filled day. Guests were seated on wooden cross-back chairs draped in soft peach toned chair drapes, creating an elegant but effortless backdrop. The aisle was lined with seasonal florals in warm, autumnal shades of russet, burnt orange, and blush, accented with flickering candles that grounded the space in intimacy and romance.

The Florals: Romantic with an Autumnal Twist

For the flowers, I wanted a balance between soft romance and the richness of the season. Blush and cream roses sat alongside toffee-toned varieties, cosmos, lisianthus, and textured amaranthus, woven with preserved autumnal foliage that echoed the changing leaves outside. The result was abundant, garden-style arrangements that felt natural yet luxurious, a nod to the season without being too heavy-handed.

A Laid-Back Reception with Style

The reception inside the barn at Tal y Bont Uchaf Farm was designed to feel welcoming and unpretentious, but still visually stunning. Flowing blush drapes created a soft canopy overhead, twinkling with festoon lights for warmth and atmosphere. Two long banquet tables were laid with natural linen, blush taper candles, and low arrangements that encouraged conversation while bringing the floral story through into the evening.

At each end of the tables, larger floral installations spilled over with foliage and blooms, adding drama and framing the space beautifully. The chairs, dressed in matching drapes, tied everything together. And above it all, playful clusters of disco balls hung from the ceiling a little nod to fun and celebration, proving that elegance and personality can go hand in hand.

The Feeling of the Day

What made this day so special wasn’t just the styling or the flowers, but the atmosphere. Because we had already married earlier in the year, the pressure was off and that gave us the freedom to truly enjoy ourselves. With a close friend leading our ceremony, surrounded by the people who mattered most, and with the luxury of turning it into a whole weekend, it felt relaxed, deeply personal, and absolutely full of love.

Final Thoughts

Our intimate September wedding at Tal y Bont Uchaf Farm in Anglesey was everything we hoped it would be a celebration of the season, of our love, and of the people dearest to us. From the autumnal florals and soft draping to the heartfelt ceremony and laid-back reception, it was a day and a weekend that reflected who we are as a couple.
